WHY DEFENDER IS FRUSTRATED WITH MOURINHO

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has revealed his frustration with his manager, Jose Mourinho following one of his recent decisions. According to the centre back, he was frustrated that the Spurs boss decided to leave him on the bench for the Europa League clash at Royal Antwerp at the end of October. Toby Alderweireld was desperate to play in his home city but he didn’t get that wish thanks to Jose Mourinho.

Toby Alderweireld vented his frustration in an interview with media outlet VTM. The former Atletico Madrid and Southampton player said that he cursed in his head following the decision not to play him before adding that there was no point making a big issue out of the decision to leave him on the substitutes’ bench. Without Toby Alderweireld, Spurs suffered their first defeat in the Europa League this season with the surprising 1-0 to Royal Antwerp. The Belgians scored the only goal of the game courtesy Israeli midfielder LiorRafaelov. Tottenham Hotspur have since recovered from that disappointing result with three straight victories in all competitions including two successive wins in the Premier League.

After the Royal Antwerp defeat on Matchday 2, Spurs beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at home in the league before a 3-1 away win over Bulgarian sideLudogorets Razgrad. The third win on the bounce was the late Premier League victory at West Brom just before the international break for November. Star striker Harry Kane scored the all-important goal against the Baggies in the last three minutes of the game.

Spurs would be hoping to make it four wins in a row with victory over Manchester City during their league meeting on Saturday night. New Spurs signing Matt Doherty has tested positive for the virus and he’s out of the Manchester City game.
